We undertook to reinvent this Member's Club, with a brief to re-imagine the space available within the clubhouse itself. A popular and vibrant club, the spaces provided to the members to socialise were narrow, the decor cold and uninviting, and the overall feel of the building was disjointed and uninspiring in contrast to the beautiful setting for the club. There were considerable problems with acoustics also making for a very uncomfortable environment within.
A complete refurbishment of the clubhouse was carried out, with a new bar and restaurant created within the space available. A zinc clad extension to the front of the property added badly needed administration facilities and created a more welcoming entrance to the club. A fully enclosable outdoor viewing terrace was created to the side balcony, overlooking the main courts area, with a new timber and glass staircase bringing members down to court level from the bar facilities. A new Gym and Excercise room were created on the lower level, together with Committee Room facilities.
